Hello!! My name is Hanna Yang (Lori). I'm from JeonJu South Korea. I'm nineteen years old. I finished my first year at BS university. I majored in special education.
When I was younger I wanted to become a school teacher. But as I grew older, I had a change of heart.
My grandfather is a pastor. He is physically disabled. Although he is handicapped, he lives every day with a smile. He is very active and positive. I respect him very much. I have met a lot of disabled people through volunteering at the welfare organization. Most of the people I have come across at the welfare organization are introverted and lack self confidence. My dream is to help those people to become like my grand father.
Also, my family precept is "Become an integral part of society. " I always think about this principle. So in every situation I do my best. I'm positive and open to everything. And as a result, people around me say they feel better because of me. Moreover, I have consideration and broad tolerance for other people. Using these merits I'm sure to become a special educator who can embrace disabled children warmly.
After my first year at my university, I realized how much more I need to learn to become a good special educator for the disabled children. I thought "I can't have more experience in Korea." That's why I decided to come to America in December of 2008. I withdrew from school temporarily. Then I came to America on March 10th. The last 5months have been a great experience for me. I have good hope that My dreams will come true.
