I remember the first time I made this cake. I was a little girl, around 8 or 9 years old, and I was stuck because I was sick. I got really bored because I was alone and had nothing to do except watching TV or reading, and I had been doing that already for several days. As I was feeling better, I decided to go and explore the apartment. Quickly, I found a huge cookbook, went through it until my eyes were catched by the picture of a yummy chocolate cake! I called my mother to ask if I could try to make it and she agreed but I had to wait for her to use the oven. That's when my passion for baking and cooking started!
Ingredients:
-5 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
-3 eggs
-3 1/2 oz granulated sugar
-2 oz flour
-1 tsp baking powder
-2 1/2 oz unsalted butter
-2 oz almond powder
Directions:
-Preheat the oven at 400°F.
-Melt the chocolate with 5 tbsp of water in a "bain-marie" (double boiler).
-In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until it turns white. Add the flour, the baking powder, the butter (melted), the almond powder and the melted chocolate. Mix everything together.
-Pour the preparation in a buttered loaf-shape pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Wait for 5 minutes before removing from the mold.
Enjoy!
