Hi everyone! HW for 6/3/14

Hi everyone,

So sorry for not posting the homework last Thursday.  I had wanted you to check the American Corpus (linked here on this blog) for adverbs like 'whereas' or 'instead,' also for the phrasal verbs that have 'take' as the head of the verbal phrase, such as 'take note' or 'take up.'  Make sure you know how to use these adverbs and these phrasal verbs.  You can find them in your student book pp. 44-45.

HW for Tuesday:

Make sure you understand the reading of today: 'Japan's children play safe.'

Go to the workbook and complete pp. 30, 31 and 32.  On page 31 you may omit exercise 3, since we have not covered this grammar yet in class.  Please do the listening on page 32, your CD is in the jacket of the back page of your workbook.

See  you tomorrow!

Oh - also today we spoke about sleep, REM and non REM (Rapid Eye Movement).  I want to thank both Moises and Yutaka for taking time today to explain sleep cycles to the class.  Good job!  Also we found out about the app Sleep Cycle from Yutaka, I already got it, only 99 cents, it's worth it!
