HW 8/26/14

Hi all!

  • Please review the terms we worked on today, relative to the documentary film we watched last Thursday Last Call at the Oasis about the global drought we are facing.  These are some of the terms we reviewed:

denominator
ripple effect
out of sight, out of mind
dole out
to pull the rug out from underneath s.one
tough call

There were quite a few others!

If you were absent, look up these 6 terms.  The other students who were present in class today, will help you with the other terms that are not listed here tomorrow.

  • Today I gave a handout to students that included the Summary of Jack London's Call of the Wild. Click Summary Call of the Wild for that handout.

  • I have to reschedule the field trip!  I can't go tomorrow and Amy can't make it either most Tuesdays.

Let's talk about this in class.

See you tomorrow ~

HW for 8/19/14

Hi everyone,

Today we began chapter 6A, an important chapter because we are looking at the usage of articles.

For homework please complete the first two pages of 6A in your student work book, sorry I don't have the book, so I don't remember the page numbers!  If anyone is reading this, can you please post the page numbers in the comments?

This Friday there is a school BBQ in SF, sign up with V.

There is also a trip to Napa if you want to go, $50 per person, sounds like fun!

We are going to take a field trip next week Tuesday, Aug. 26th to Jack London square, to see the little house Jack London stayed in and also to have lunch at Marc's family restaurant - Venga Paella!  So remember to bring enough money for the BART trip and for lunch Tuesday, next week, let's talk about how much we should bring to make sure we can all cover our expenses!

See you tomorrow ~
